Are Organic Hand Sanitizers Effective Against Coronavirus?

Washing our hands with warm water and soap is one of the most effective methods to prevent coronavirus and other bacteria and viruses. And when soap and water aren’t available, alcohol-based hand sanitizer is the next best option. But how effective are gels and sprays when it comes to getting rid of dangerous germs, such as the coronavirus?

Use sanitizers for effective cleaning

If you are talking about clean and germs, free hands or surface, warm water and antibacterial soap are the ideal combinations. But, soap and water do not kill germs. They remove them. On the other hand, alcohol-based hand sanitizers do kill dangerous bacteria and germs on the skin. However, it is always recommended to use premium quality organic sanitizer to protect the skin’s health as it doesn’t have harsh chemicals. Scientists suspect hand sanitizer does kill the coronavirus.

Opt for organic sanitizers only

To kill most disease-causing germs, the experts recommend using a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60 per cent alcohol. However, if you don’t feel using chemical hand sanitizer, you can opt for an organic sanitation product that contains organic acids. The organic product contains aloe vera or witch hazel extracts as these plants have healing properties.

Do you know the technique?

Organic hand sanitizer works perfectly if you know the technique to use it.

Take the recommended amount to the palm of your hand and distribute the sanitizer all over, paying particular attention to the fingertips. Rub until the skin is dehydrated. It should take about 20 seconds. The alcohol or organic acid works, and it does kill the virus and most bacteria.

Hand sanitizers and cleaning products are different.

Antibacterial chemicals, sprays and gels for industrial or home uses are much more substantial. So we should not use them as hand sanitizers. These items are made for hard, nonporous surfaces, not human skin. However, some people use them, and it is not correct. Chemical hand sanitizers are practically harmful to the skin, especially for children. Hand sanitizer is also flammable. Don’t forget to store organic sanitizer in a  safe place, away from children’s reach.

What about homemade products?

You can easily make hand sanitizers at home with the help of the internet. However, they are not entirely practical. Adding ethanol-based liquids to a bottle of non-alcohol hand sanitizer will not make the sanitizer more powerful. Buy only genuine plant protection products if you want to safeguard the indoor plants against pests, diseases and viruses, making the environment safe.
